Ada I. Najarian
June 25, 2012
Ada I. Najarian, of Sedona, died June 25, just one day before her 97th birthday.
She was the beloved wife of the late Harold Najarian and loving mother of Gerrie (Terry) Sidwell of Sedona and Terry Najarian of Carson, California. She was the dear sister of Genevieve Rupp of Hartland, Michigan and aunt to numerous nieces and nephews.
She was a native of Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, Canada. Ada moved to Sedona five years ago after having lived in Southern California for many years.
She was a hair stylist having owned her own beauty salon for ten years. She also taught water aerobics for thirty years in California.
Ada and her husband Harold, a photographer, made many trips to Sedona in the 1950s and 1960s to take pictures of the red rocks and sunsets. Ada was a model for many of these photos.
She was very involved in teaching arts and crafts at Sedona Winds where she was a resident. She showed her friends how to decorate hangers, scarves, and beautiful paper butterflies. Ada was a devoted parishioner of St. John Vianney Catholic Church, where a memorial Mass will be held for her Monday, July 2, at 11 a.m.
Her family wishes to express a heartfelt thank you to Compassus Hospice in appreciation for their compassion and help.
