Allan T Steed

May 26, 1936 — December 4, 2022

Allan Thomson Steed (86)

May 26, 1936, to December 4, 2022

Our Beloved Father, Allan, went to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in Heaven on

Sunday, December 4, 2022.

He is survived by his three sons, Allan Michael, Zachary, and Clayton. He is also survived by

his Grandson, Sawyer, and wife of 16 years, Carole. He had two older sisters, Peggy Young and

Sylvia Warpness that had passed away previously, and he is missed by his family and friends.

Allan was born and raised in Jackson Hole, Wyoming in the Episcopal Church community

there and loved the Rocky Mountains. After graduating from High School, he went into the Air

Force to serve his Country for eight (8) years, with some of that time being deployed to

Okinawa, Japan for over two years. Natives of Jackson Hole, that were born there, graduated

from the local High School and then went on to serve in the Military are honored with their

names inscribed on the Statue in the Center of Town Square in Jackson, which is where will

find his name engraved there too.

Toward the end of his Military service, he was stationed in Orlando, Florida, then went on to

find his career at Pratt & Whitney in West Palm Beach. During his 26+ years there, he did Sea

Level Jet Engine Testing, was a Video engineer and tested new metals to pressure stress test

them for endurance and longevity for use in newer Jet Engine systems.

There, he met his wife, Rebecca, and was married in June 1966, and where they raised their

three sons together in West Palm Beach, Florida and was married to her, Rebecca Margaret

Hall Steed, for 25+ years there. He raised three of the most productive men in history, always

stood tall and was proud man, even when life events had him down, he still stood tall.

During their life together in Florida, Allan was active in Masonry and in the York Rite and had

his three sons in DeMolay for young men in Masonry. One of his favorite family things to do

was to drive across country from West Palm Beach to Jackson Hole, many times on family

vacations, and those fond memories will be with his three sons all of their lives.

After his retirement from Pratt & Whitney in 1992, he moved to Arizona to be close to his mom,

Margaret, who retired nearby in Cottonwood until she died at the age of 97.

After a few years settling into his new home at Sunset Village in Sedona, he learned to play the

piano, taught Country Line Dancing and participated in many activities during his life there.

Then something special happened; he met another resident of Sunset Village, Carole Barker,

and cupid’s arrow hit in 2006, at which time he proposed, she accepted, and they were married

in October of 2006, with his oldest son, Allan Michael, being his Best Man and Carole’s

photographer at their wedding in the community clubhouse.

His grandson brought new joy to his life, in his later years and enjoyed the time that they had

together. We will look to the night sky to find him among the stars.

We Love you Dad, Grandpa, Husband and are truly blessed by your Love
