Anna Wildes, age 89, born January 22, 1935 in Lexington, MA entered into eternal rest peacefully on Tuesday September 3rd, 2024. She is survived by her children, Wally, Linda, Wayne, and Elizabeth, and also eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Preceding her in death was her faithful husband Walter W. Wildes. Anna’s parents immigrated from Italy and had seven children and valued family time. Anna worked as a retail manager prior to marriage and became her husband’s office manager for W.W.Wildes Home Improvement Co. Anna cherished her family and hosted many family gatherings with her amazing home-cooked Italian food. Anna and her husband Walt were best friends during their beautiful 43 year marriage until Walt’s early passing in 2001. She was an incredible mom, grandma, great grandmother, daughter, aunt, sister, friend, and minister of Christ.
Anna lived a life surrendered to Jesus Christ. She faithfully served her churches while living her life in Massachusetts and Arizona. As a spiritual guide, Anna mentored young women, using God’s Truth to inspire them to be healthy wives, moms, and women of faith. She inspired many people by her love and compassion and always put people first as Jesus modeled. She was passionate about her first love, Jesus, and spent time in the early mornings reading and meditating on his truths from the Bible. She understood the many distractions of the world, so she was very disciplined in transforming her mind by the Holy Spirit.
Anna had many friends and would always welcome people into her home for a delicious meal and warm compassionate love from her listening ear. Anna lived a life of humility and profound compassion which was evident by her lifestyle. She wrote out hundreds of pages in her journal of verses and words of encouragement. Anna had a strong and solid foundation in Christ, and He was her cornerstone which gave her a life of peace even during difficult times. Anna and her husband Walt poured their love into young men and women; one of them wrote a beautiful poem below about how she saw Walt and Anna. This is the legacy she left to all who knew her and spent time in her presence.
“I saw Jesus”
I saw Jesus when I looked into your eyes, I know Him better because of you.
You lived your life poured out for Him: he was your passion, your promise, your purpose.
I saw Jesus when I looked into your eyes, I know Him better because of you. You lived an ordinary life in extraordinary ways: You modeled His compassion, His consistency, His character.
I saw Jesus when I looked into your eyes, I know Him better because of you.
You left a legacy of righteousness for generations to come. We can best remember you by living our lives for Him. And someday, may someone say,
I saw Jesus when I looked into your eyes, I know Him better because of you. --Poem written by Elisa Brinckmann
