Barbara Anne Wheelock, born July 26, 1935, passed away on October 23, 2016, in her home in Sedona, AZ. She is survived by her two sons and their families: Everett Wheelock, IV, his wife Leslie and Everett's son Colin; Douglas Wheelock, his wife Marisa, and their two daughters Muriah and Savannah.
Barbara was born and grew up in Knoxville, TN, and graduated from the University of Tennessee in 1957. While working as a stewardess for TWA she met and subsequently married Everett Wheelock III, and moved to Kansas City, MO, where she and her husband raised their family and enjoyed a very active social life with many friends.
After her husband Everett passed away in 1998, Barbara moved to Sedona, AZ, where she purchased a home and again became deeply involved in the community. She joined St. Andrew's Episcopal Church where she sang in the choir, enjoyed the beautiful Sedona outdoors as part of the Sedona Westerners Hiking Group, and served as president of the Sedona Flagstaff Symphony League. While in Sedona Barbara met Bruce "Skip" Hill, and they became devoted companions, traveling extensively.
Barbara will be fondly remembered by family and friends for her sparkling personality and love of life. A memorial service for Barbara will be held Saturday, November 5th, 2016, at 10am at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, Sedona, AZ.
