Clifford Perkins was born in Wilmington, Delaware, on October 1, 1923.
He served in the Pacific during WWII, graduated from Hobart College (BA) and Columbia University (MA), and later attended summer sessions at Berkeley and Harvard.
After teaching for several years in Pennsylvania, he came to the Verde Valley School in Sedona in 1955 where he taught history and literature for 34 years.
He is survived by his wife Marguerite, son Jeffrey and wife Christine, son Joseph and wife Elizabeth, and grandsons Samuel and Nicholas Perkins.
