David Wallace

David Wallace, 86, of Sedona, Arizona, died Sunday morning, October 21, 2018, surrounded by family. Known for his quick wit, gracious smite, and loving spirit, Dave was well-loved as a friend and pastor to his community. But he was cherished as a father, grandfather, and great- grandfather. He served God, loved his family, and cared for his community throughout his life. David Wallace was born August 26, 1932 in Fairpoint, Ohio, to David and Mary Alice Wallace. He graduated from Sterling College in Sterling, Kansas before completing his Master of Divinity from Pittsburgh Theological Seminary in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Throughout his career as a pastor in the Presbyterian Church USA, he led congregations in Pennsylvania, Colorado, South Dakota, Minnesota, and Arizona. In addition to leading congregations, he loved serving and working with the churches on the Navajo reservation in Arizona.
David is survived by sons Nathan (Dawn), Scott (Marian), and Robert (Linda) Wallace, grandchildren Rebecca, Samantha (Christopher) Piquette, Tarah, William, Madison and Reagan Wallace, great-granddaughter Everly Piquetteand sister Elizabeth Owen, as well as many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by wife Doris Wallace, former wife LaDonna Wallace, and sisters Dorothy (Wallace) Shields and Mary Alice (Wallace) Reilly. Throughout his life, he loved building and working on clocks and timepieces, working with horses, as well as woodworking and cars. An avid reader, David was well known for telling and sharing stories, all while enjoying a good cup of coffee.
A funeral service for David will be held graveside at the Desert View Cemetery in Winslow, AZ on Saturday, November 3,2018, at 11 :00 a.m., Reverend Bill Guise officiating. A reception for family and friends will be held afterwards. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations are made in David's honor to Arizona Camp Sunrise & Sidekicks, clo Bob Wallace, 45 Cypress Drive, Sedona, AZ 86336.
