Dell Levi Norman, age 86, passed away on Friday, November 14, 2014. Often known by family and friends as "Bill", he passed peacefully at home with his wife Patricia and friends at his bedside.
Dell was born November 28, 1927 in San Francisco, California of parents Ernest and Edna Marie Norman. He spent his youth in Parma, Idaho. He was a decorated Army and U.S. Air Force veteran who served his country for thirteen years, including overseas in World War II.
He was a civil engineering inspector for the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation. He spent his retirement in Sedona, Arizona where he volunteered for Arizona state parks. He spent many years at Slide Rock State Park helping to renovate the apple shed and other buildings. He loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter, fisherman, and camper.
Dell is survived by his wife (Patricia Norman); his children (Dale Norman, Dan Norman, Don Norman, David Norman, Doug Norman, Christine Clay, and Nicki Norman); and step-children (Mary Beth Rose and Thomas Fusso). He is preceded in death by his first wife Margaret and son Dick Norman.
Memorial services will be held in Portland, Oregon.
