Donald Raymond Elgie, a visionary entrepreneur, embarked on his remarkable journey on July 27th, 1933, in London Ontario.
His early years were shaped by the entrepreneurial spirit, leading him through diverse ventures, including the establishment of
his own grocery store in London.

At the age of 27, destiny called him to San Francisco, where he made a pivotal decision to relinquish his Canadian citizenship,
proudly becoming an American Citizen in 1963.  Demonstrating exceptional business acumen, Don founded the CGA in September of the same year.
CGA, under his leadership, specialized in designing, manufacturing, and installing exterior walls and windows for Hi-Rise buildings in California, Washington, and
Hawaii.  This venture not only showcased Don's professional prowess but also left an enduring impact on the skylines of multiple states.

In 1988, at the age of 47, Don decided to embark on a well-deserved retirement, leaving behind a lasting legacy in the business world - a testament to
his unwavering dedication and innovative spirit.  Post-retirement, Don transitioned into commercial real estate, bringing his wealth of experience and
keen business sense to a new frontier.

Don's personal life was equally rich and filled with love.  In 1965, he married his beloved wife Carole, and together they raised two wonderful children,
Damon and Le-Ann.  The Elgie family also included three grandchildren, Charlotte, Henry and Madeleine.  Don's family roots run deep, with his father
Walter Elgie, mother Mae Elgie, and his brother Leonard Elgie, who served as Inspector of Police in London, Ontario, Canada.  The family was a cornerstone
of Don's life, and his role as a husband, father, and brother was marked by love, support, and cherished moments.

Beyond his professional and family life, Don was a devoted member of the Masonic Lodge 380 in London, Ontario, the Scottish Rite in Oakland, CA, and
Aahmes Shriners in Oakland, CA.  In the rich tapestry of his interests, Don found joy in various hobbies.  An avid tennis player and fan, he frequented the Orinda
Country Club for 31 years, Don contributed to the camaraderie and community spirit of this esteemed club.

In 2002, Don and Carole made the significant decision to move to Sedona, where he became an active member of the community.  Don was a member of the Church
of the Red Rocks for 21 years, contributing to its vibrant and spiritual environment.

Don's leisurely pursuits also included a passion for golf and football.  His days off were cherished opportunities to indulge in these interests, creating lasting memories
with family and friends.  As a connoisseur of automobiles, Don's fondness for iconic brands and his exploration of various makes and models reflected his adventurous
spirit.

Today, as we remember and celebrate the life of Don Elgie, let us carry forward the lessons of resilience, determination, and love that he generously shared with us all.
