Donald W Long

Donald Long passed away at age 100 in Village of Oak Creek, AZ. after a fall and brief illness. He was born in Worcester, MA. where he resided until going off to war at age 21. USAAF Lieutenant Donald Long became a gifted Navigator and flew countless missions around the globe in both WW II and the Korean War.
After the war Donald and his new bride Patricia settled down in Seattle WA. until retirement brought them to Sedona in 1987. After Patricia’s early passing Don met Dorothy Pollack where they both were volunteers at the Sedona Chamber Visitors Center and they were married in 1990.
During his 33 wonderful years in Sedona, Don was a longtime volunteer with the Chamber Visitors Center, Village Kiwanis Club and active hiker, traveler, and student of local geology.
Don is survived by his son Roger (Patricia), step- daughters Pam Shay of Sedona and Marty Martin and Barbara Selby of California and grandchildren and step grandchildren.
The family is so grateful that Dad stayed in his own home until age 100 thanks to wonderful neighbors, Meals on Wheels, Verde Valley Caregivers, and finally Sedona Winds and Compassus Hospice. No funeral services are planned at this time but Memorials to any of the local organizations mentioned above would be gladly appreciated.
