Doris Dutcher

Doris Louise Dutcher, 88, who was born on December 8, 1920, in Newton, Kansas, passed away on December 7, 2009 in Sedona, Arizona. Doris moved from Newton, Kansas to Long Beach, California in 1939, where she met and married Frank Dutcher (who preceded her in death in 1979) and where they raised their family. Doris did volunteer work for over 45 years in the Long Beach hospitals. She had a love of adventure and traveled to many countries throughout the world.

Doris moved to Sedona on her 70th birthday. She was very happy living there and pursued her love of art, her painting, and sculpture. Her first love was her church, family and friends, and her love for her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Doris is survived by her two daughters Pamela Dutcher Reid (John) of Long Beach, California and Leilla Shaleen Winn (James Fisher) of Vero Beach, Florida; her grandson Jack Reid; her sister Betty Mooney (Duane) and many neices and nephews. She is preceded in death by her brother Morris Gates (Margaret) and Edgar Gates (Margaret) of Newton, Kansas.

Memorial services will be celebrated at Sedona United Methodist Church on Saturday, December 12 at 1:00 PM in the afternoon. In lieu of flowers, donations may gratefully be made to the Sedona United Methodist Building Fund, 100 Indian Cliffs Road, Sedona, Arizona 86336. Doris will be deeply missed by her family and always loved and remembered by all who knew her.
