Erwin Polcyn, age 95, of Sedona, Arizona, passed away on January 5, 2021, at Sedona Winds Assisted Living due to complications of the COVID-19 virus. He was born in Chicago, IL on August 6, 1925. He grew up in Cicero, IL and graduated from Morton High School in 1943. He immediately enlisted in the Air Force and served for two years, spending a lot of time in China and India and had great memories and pictures from there. He received an honorable discharge as a Corporal. He attended North Central College in Naperville, IL where he received his Bachelors in Engineering in 1949. Erwin moved his family to Scottsdale, AZ in 1965 due to a transfer from Chicago as he worked for Motorola as an Industrial Engineer. He retired from Motorola in 1989. He married his childhood sweetheart, Gloriana Eve Remp, in 1947. They were married for 47 years until her passing from Lymphoma in 1994. In 1996 he married his second wife, Marty Defily, of Downers Grove, IL. They were married for 10 years.

In his later years, he loved to go to the senior centers in Scottsdale, AZ and dance with the ladies and sing to all who would listen. He loved his family and would show everyone at Sedona Winds the annual family Christmas card pictures and name everyone, including his great grandchildren.

He is survived by his son, Glen Polcyn and his wife Becki (Holguin) Polcyn, of Sedona, AZ, Grandson, Grady Polcyn (Chantel), of Chandler, AZ, Granddaughter, Paris (Polcyn) Karnes (Matthew), of Arvada, CO, Great Grandchildren, Presley Polcyn, Christian Polcyn, Cameron Polcyn, Vivian Polcyn, Ethan Karnes and Beckett Karnes. He is also survived by his sisters, Alice (Polcyn) Denemark of Stevensville, MI, and Elaine (Polcyn) Tonelli of Downers Grove, IL and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

He is predeceased by his spouse, Gloriana (Remp) Polcyn, his parents, John & Sophie (Druszcz) Polcyn, his younger brother John Polcyn and his younger sister, Jean (Polcyn) Perrone.

There will be no services as he requested “no fanfare or fodder” and will be cremated by Greer’s Mortuary of Sedona, AZ and interned next to his wife, Gloriana, at Paradise Memorial Gardens Mausoleum of Scottsdale, AZ where there will be a private family ceremony.
