Gary Reed Meredith

May 17, 1945 — September 1, 2013

Gary Reed Meredith was born May 17, 1945, in Vancouver WA to Arthur and Alyce (Erickson) Meredith. He passed away on September 1, 2013 in Cottonwood AZ.

On December 7, 1974, in Woodland WA, he married a wonderful woman by the name of Sharon. They had the most amazing marriage, just as you read about in the story books. They could look into each others eyes and know what the other was thinking. I dont recall a cross word being spoken between the two of them.

Survivors include Sharon, his wife, of Cottonwood AZ, daughter Laura Meredith of Camp Verde AZ and son Tod and wife, Michelle Stanwood of Portland OR. Gary had 6 Grandchildren, Mathew Meredith of Florence AZ, Crystal Burch of Portland OR, and Brandy Burch of Camp Verde AZ, Miranda Stanwood and Elizabeth Stanwood, both of Portland OR, and Rachel Stanwood of Vancouver WA. He was also blessed with 9 Great-Grandchildren.

Gary was also survived by 3 brothers, Lyle and wife, Joni Meredith of Redmond OR, Dan and wife Shari Meredith of Puget Island WA, and Chip Meredith of Puget Island WA; and a sister Marlene and husband Phil Wait of Vancouver WA.

Gary had a great love of the outdoors which included hunting, fishing and driving around enjoying the scenery. He was an Honorary member of Verde Search and Rescue, and a VIP Sheriff with Yavapai County Sheriffs Office, and had also Volunteered with Camp Verde Ambulance service from 1996-2001. Gary was also a CPR/First Aid instructor and faculty member of the American Heart Association, a carpenter, and a service manager for Ford in Woodland WA.

He was a very happy-go-lucky person and always had something nice to say about everyone he met. He was always smiling.

Gary will be missed by all.
