Sedona, AZ - Gerard Lawrence Perreault, 78, formerly of New Bedford, MA, Orleans, MA, West Fairlee, VT, Eliot, ME, Port Charlotte, FL and Bradenton, FL died suddenly on Father's Day, Sunday, June 18, 2017.

He leaves behind his wife Frances (Gomes) with whom he celebrated his 57th anniversary two weeks earlier. He is also survived by his sister-in-law Kathleen Simmons, her husband Henry and their sons Keith and Eric as well as many other relatives.

Born in 1939 to the late Gerard A. Perreault and Loretta Arsenault, he took great pride in caring for his widowed mother who lived with Gerard and Frances for 28 years. A Cape Cod resident from 1945 to 1988 he was a self made man running his own businesses. He relocated to Vermont in 1988 and reinvigorated his career by becoming a technician at a high tech firm until his retirement in 2005.

He was a Son, a Husband, a Father, a Grandfather and a good friend to countless people. Even though it was only a hobby, he was an accomplished builder with strong knowledge in all areas of construction including but not limited to, plumbing, electrical, framing and interior finish carpentry.

He was an avid Nascar fan with a thirst for knowledge. He was always excited by the challenge of a designing a new construction project. But most importantly he was a builder of friendships. Even moments after his passing countless people have come forward sharing personal stories of how he enriched their lives and touched their hearts. There is no better representation of the worth of one's life than the warm and positive thoughts of those he has encountered.
