Helen Dahlskog

d. October 22, 2010

Helen Dahlskog, a resident of Sedona Winds in the Village of Oak Creek, passed away at age 97 on October 21, 2010. Born Helen Louise Kleinert in Ladysmith, Wisconsin. She lived there until moving to Madison, Wisconsin in 1935. There she attended the University of Wisconsin, graduation with a degree in English.

After marriage to Olof Dahlskog who was teaching in a nearby branch of the University, the couple relocated in Chicago, Illinois. There Helen was employed as an editor with Vance Publishing Company for 14 years. Moving to the suburb of Evanston, Illinois, she was a dictionary editor with Consolidated Book Publishers. For several years she also served as a volunteer at the Evanston Public Library and Evanston Hospital.

After her husband's retirement and several years of traveling, Helen and Olof settled in Sedona in 1982. Here she was a volunteer for five years at the Sedona Library on Jordan Road.

Following her husband's death in 1991, Helen moved to the Oak Creek Estados and later to Sedona Winds in the Village. Survivors are several cousins in Wisconsin and Florida; two goddaughters and cherished friends. It would be her wish for any donations in her memory be made to the Verde Valley Sanctuary or Sedona Humane Society. No services will be held.
