Irene Alpert

We are sad to announce that our dear Aunt, Irene Alpert, passed away on October 20, 2020 in Sedona, AZ. Irene Rita (Julia) Donohue, was born in Brooklyn, NY on February 16, 1929. Irene was married to Alvin H. Alpert, July 24, 1964 in New York City. They moved to Sedona in 1987. Alvin passed away in 2011.

Irene was very active in the St. John Vianney Church in Sedona serving as an Eucharist Minister, and also served as treasurer with the Flagstaff Symphony for many years. Both Alpert’s were very involved with Chamber Music Sedona.  Irene and Alvin were very active in the community and happy living in their beautiful home in the Red Rocks of Sedona.

Irene graduated from St. Joseph’s College in Brooklyn, NY and was honored by being the first female Insurance Adjuster in the country. While living in New York City, the Alpert’s loved music, the arts, enjoying the symphony, galleries and museums as well as traveling extensively.

Irene is survived by twenty-three nieces and nephews most of whom live on the East Coast.

Mass will be celebrated at St. John Vianney Church at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, November 10th in Sedona, AZ.
