James Alfred Stevenson, 92, of the Village of Oak Creek, Sedona, died April 9, 2013. He was born August 13, 1920 in Chicago, Illinois. Military service included 4 years in the United States Coast Guard during World War II and was on reserve status for an additional 12 years. After more than 30 years with the Atchison, Topeka, and Santa Fe Railroad he retired in 1982 as the Assistant to the Vice President-Traffic department and moved to the Village of Oak Creek in 1988.
The family held a graveside service at the Sedona Community Cemetery on Friday, April 12th. He is pre-deceased by his wife of 61 years, Eleanor Stevenson, and is survived by his daughter, Deborah Stevenson.
