James Auld Simley, 89, was called home by our Lord on Monday, June 17, 2019. He was born September 14, 1929 in Los Angeles, California to Ole and Iva Simley.
Jim grew up in Tucson, Arizona, attending Tucson High and the University of Arizona, where he met his future wife Nancy in 1950.
He joined the United States Navy in August of 1951, and married Nancy on December 15, 1951. Jim served six months in the Philippines from November 1954 to May 1955. He completed his military service in the summer of 1955.
He returned to Tucson to complete his education at the University of Arizona, receiving a B.A. Degree in Business in 1957.
The family moved to San Diego, where Jim got a job in the aerospace industry at Convair, later moving to Teledyne Ryan, where he worked until his retirement in 1992. Jim and Nancy moved to Sedona, Arizona, later that year.
He is survived by his wife Nancy, children Karen and Marc, daughter-in-law Simone, and grandson Louis.
He is predeceased by his parents Ole and Iva Simley, brother John Simley, and sister Ann Simley.
Services will be Friday, June 28 at 1:00 p.m. at The Master’s Bible Church, 175 Kallof Place, Sedona, Arizona.
