James Wallace Carter, 83, passed away peacefully on February 15, 2009 at his home in Camp Verde with Dorothy "Dossie" his high school sweetheart and beloved wife of 61 years by his side.

He is the son of educators Dr. J. Frank and Gladys Carter. He served in the Navy during WWII on the hospital ship "Repose," and was originally a Doctor of Chiropractic from Pennsylvania, before he and Dossie came to Arizona in 1979. They lived in Sun Lakes where he was Chief of Security for 18 years, a past member of the American Legion Post #55, voiture Local 1466, and an Arizona Ranger.

Wally is survived by his wife Dossie, his daughter and son-in-law Deb and Martino of Camp Verde, and family back East.
