Jeanette Marie Dux died in Sedona on June 5, 2013 after a long illness. Jeanette was born in Julesburg, Colorado, on August 11, 1933, the daughter of Claude and Godiva Martin. She graduated from Julesburg High School in 1951 and was employed by the Sedgewick County National Bank. In 1954 she married Jim Meile of Julesburg, and in 1957 the couple moved to Denver, where Jim was employed as an engineer at the Rocky Flats Nuclear Facility. They had a son, Timothy, who was born in 1956 and a daughter, Sandra (Sandy), born in 1961. In the succeeding years Jeanette devoted herself to being a mother and manager of the Meile household. After the children were grown she resumed a business career, first as Secretary at Kobe Laboratories in Denver, then at Empire Savings Bank and eventually as Administrative Assistant to the Vice President for Finance and Administration of Regis University in Denver. Jeanette and Jim Meile divorced in 1980.
One of the great tragedies in Jeanettes life was her daughter, Sandys death of a brain tumor in 1993. In 1995 Jeanette married Michael Dux, a retired Foreign Service Officer, whose first wife had died in 1992. Michael and Jeanette moved to Sedona in 1996 and bought a house in the Village of Oak Creek. Jeanette is survived by her son, Timothy, a brother, Harold of Aurora, Colorado and a younger brother, Jim of Julesburg, Colorado.
Funeral services will be held in Denver, where Jeanettes remains will be buried.
