Joann Stueve

July 19, 1936 — May 2, 2010

JoAnn Stueve passed away on May 2, 2010 following a lengthy illness. Her loving husband, Raymond, was by her side.

JoAnn was born on July 19, 1936 in Woodbury County, Sioux City, Iowa to the late Dale M. and Josephine M. Ard. From a young age, JoAnn demonstrated a vivacious personality, and singular sense of style. Her sense of humor, and outgoing attitude often made her the belle of the ball. With a sense of adventure, JoAnn made the move from Sioux City, Iowa to San Diego, California where she met Raymond V. Stueve, the love of her life. They were married on June 20, 1964 in San Diego, California.

JoAnn was a loyal and loving daughter, sister, wife, aunt, and friend. Over 30 years ago, JoAnn left a promising career with New York Life Insurance Company to accompany Ray to Sedona, Arizona to establish a family operated commercial and residential painting business. Through all the ups and downs of the intervening years, JoAnn remained a dedicated partner and motivating force in their personal and professional lives. Until her final illness, JoAnn continued as an active presence within the community; the friendships she made were lifelong. She made a lasting impression on all who knew her and will be deeply missed and forever remembered with love.

JoAnn is survived by her husband, Raymond V. Stueve; a sister, Martha C. Mackey (Ronald) of Glendale, Arizona; a sister, Lucille M. VanValkingburg (Harland) of Sioux City, Iowa; a brother, David M. Ard (Darlene) of Port Charlotte, Florida and a brother, F. Michael Ard (Mary Jo) of Tucson, Arizona. She is further survived by many cousins, nieces, and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a brother, Timothy D. Ard.
