Joanna Sue 'Jean' Badiaco

Joanna Sue "Jean" Badiaco died June 17, 2009 at Verde Valley Medical Center in Cottonwood at the age of 87.

She was born in Manhattan and was raised in Brooklyn. Following high school, she moved to Chicago and began working as a seamstress and a cook. She owned her own restaurant and was also a beautician. She moved to Arizona in 1967 and continued working as a cook. She moved to Sedona in 1999. She was "the best mom". She enjoyed reading and was known as a great matchmaker.

She is survived by her son John Badiaco (and wife Barbara) of Sedona; her daughter Catherine Demko of Hardy, Arkansas; and three grandchildren, Michael and Jonathan Badiaco and Patty Jedike.

A memorial service was held Saturday, June 20 at Christ Center Wesleyan Church in Sedona.
