Leo B. Agers

Loving husband and father.

Leo passed away peacefully surrounded by his immediate family and professional caregivers. He is survived by his bride of 64 years, Carol (Booth), son Jeff (Kathy), and two sisters, Nettie Ullrich, and Mary Luise Fenton. His parents Joseph and Cerena Agers, and brothers John, Charles, and Allen predeceased him.

Leo served in the United States Army in World War II, seeing action in northern Australia, and New Guinea. He also served in Europe. Upon his return and subsequent discharge from the Army, Leo used his newly aquired GI benefits to attend college. Upon graduation, as a petroleum engineer, he was hired by a major American oil company and retired from the same company 33 years later. He was a member of several professional organizations and received several service awards.

Leo was a resident of the Village of Oak Creek for the past 14 years. He enjoyed playing golf with his family and friends. Leo was an all around outdoorsman who enjoyed hiking, hunting and fishing. He loved the magnificent red rock formations of the area. Leo also gave talks about his WWII experiences to local schools. He and his wife Carol made significant contributions to the Sedona Library system. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
