Mary Frances Garrett

Mary Frances Garrett (nee Marvin) passed away April 12, 2011 in Sedona, AZ at the age of 94. Born January 2, 1917, she was preceded in death by her husband of 72 years, Newbern Jefferson "Buddy" Garrett in 2005. Mrs. Garrett was the creator of the First United Methodist Church of Crossett Kindergarten and Day Care Center. The FUMC wing housing the Center was dedicated to her in January of 2000.

Surviving are her son, N.J. "Jeff" (Gayle) Garrett, Jr., daughter Margaret (Mike) Connors, grandchildren Catherine "Liz" (Rory) Harris, Sean (Sarah) Connors, Catherine (Allan) Lawson, and five great-grandchildren. Mrs. Garrett will be interred with her husband at Pinewood Memorial Park. A funeral service will be held Saturday April 30th at 4pm at the First United Methodist Church. Please join her family for a celebration of her life. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the FUMC Day Care Center.
