Raymond H. Anderson of Sedona, AZ passed away on Sunday, September 23rd. Ray was 75 and was born in Queens, New York. He is survived by his wife, Becky, two sons and their wives, Jeff & Dianna Anderson of St. Croix USVI and Scott & Gabrielle Anderson of Sedona, AZ, and five grandchildren - Brittany, Alora, Ben, Cole, and Kian.
Raymond had a thirty year career with the Long Island Rail Road, starting out as a Fireman, with promotions to Locomotive Engineer, Road Foreman, and Assistant Superintendent.
After retirement, Ray & Becky moved to Sedona where they pursued the active lifestyle they always dreamed of. Ray was an avid mountain biker for over twenty years, often averaging over thirty miles a week.
He presided over both the Verde Valley Four Wheeler Club and the Sedona Historical Society where he volunteered innumerable hours helping to restore its many acquisitions.
Ray & Becky also enjoyed camping all across America and traveled extensively internationally.
A celebration of life will be held at 3:30pm on Saturday, September 29th at the Sedona Heritage Museum located at the end of Jordan Road in the uptown Sedona area.
