Richard Elmer Chamness was born to William and Lotha Chamness on September 15, 1925 in Muncie, Indiana.

He was married to Elaine Chamness for 65 years. He was a Navy pilot WW II veteran. First in his family to attend

college made possible by the G.I. Bill. With an engineering degree from Purdue, he became an Aerospace engineer working

with companies which had contracts with NASA and the Air Force. He was preceded in death by his wife, Elaine in

2016. He is survived by his brother, son and daughter, 2 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

Services are to be held November 14, 2020, 11:00 AM at Rock of Ages Lutheran Church.
