Richard S.Vorobik, 88, died peacefully in his home on Friday, December 29, 2017 in Sedona, AZ. He was surrounded by his family at the time of his death.
He leaves behind his wife, Elaine, his two daughters, Debbie McLane and Denise Hughes (Matt) and five grandchildren: Ryan, Cody, Tessa, Madison and Austin.
Born in Oak Park, Illinois on Aug. 20, 1929, he moved to the Seattle, WA area with his family when he was 15. He joined the Navy and was based at Sand Point, ID, where he learned to work on helicopters and developed his lifelong love of flying and airplanes. After he left the military he joined the Boeing Corp. in Seattle, eventually moving to southern California where he became a source quality control representative. He was with Boeing for over 40 years, retiring in 1992, and later moving to Port Angeles, Washington.
Dick loved flying his plane and fishing and combined the two to go on some epic fishing adventures. He also loved finding and restoring classic cars, rebuilding wrecked airplanes and spending hours tinkering on his latest project.
