Sylvia Jane Shilling

Sylvia Jane Sizemore Shilling of Cottonwood went to be with the Lord September 16, 2013. Sylvia was born in Vinita, Oklahoma, March 16, 1918, to Irving and Judy Sizemore. When she was seven, her family moved to the Northwest, settling in Salem, Oregon. Sylvia was 18 when she met her future husband Frank Shilling. They married six years later in Tucson, Arizona, while Frank was stationed at Davis Monthan Air Force base. Sylvia returned home to Salem when Frank was shipped over seas during WWII. After Frank left the service, they lived in Oregon for 11 years. They returned to Arizona in 1956 and moved to the Verde Valley in 1959. Sylvia was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband Frank, three brothers and three sisters. Sylvia is survived by her daughter Linda of Cottonwood, son Lonnie (Donna) of Glendale, AZ, son Larry (Vickie) of Clarkdale, foster son Gary (Roberta) Campbell of Tucson, 6 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Memorial services will be on October 14, at 11:00AM at Verde Valley Christian Church where Sylvia was a member for 26 years.
