THEODORE STEPHEN WOLFF
December 25, 1934 " August 7, 2017
Theodore Ted Stephen Wolff, 82, of Sedona, passed away peacefully due to complications
from ALS on August 7, 2017.
He was born in Streator, IL, lived in Joliet, IL for many years before becoming a resident of
Sedona the last 36 years of his life. He came from humble beginnings, served as a ships
navigator for 4 years in the Navy during the Korean Conflict before meeting and marrying the
love of his life, Lois. They were happily married for 59 years. Early on, Ted became a police
officer in Joliet, IL, went on to become a Detective Sergeant and completed FBI school. He also
started a real estate brokerage as a second job, but was so successful, that quickly became his
lifes work. He owned and operated Pioneer Realty in Joliet as a Broker. He and Lois had always
dreamed of living out West, and after one visit to Sedona, sold off everything and moved here.
Ted worked as a top producing real estate agent at Coldwell Banker First Affiliate and received
numerous prestigious top sales agent awards. He was a member of the National Association of
Realtors for more than 50 years. He never really retired, and continued working with SRM
Premier Properties, as well as managing his family properties until his passing.
He is survived by his loving family, wife Lois, daughters Deborah Betts and Kathleen Wolff, his
son Michael, his grandchildren Jacob and Zachary, his son-in-laws, Todd Betts, William
Curly Smith and his sister Bonnie Gretz. He is preceded in death by his daughter-in-law,
Darrah, his parents, Lavon and Hazel, and his two sisters Dorothy and Mildred.
Ted was a prankster, a joker and a patriarchal figure to many. We hope you will join us and share stories with us at our celebration of Teds life at Greers Mortuary on August 19 at 1:00 p.m.
