Therese Schaeffer, 82, of Sedona, died Jan. 5.

Born in Santa Cruz, Calif., she was an artist and retired to Arizona 16 years ago.

She is survived by her daughter Elle Alves of Sedona; her son Frank Schaeffer of St. Helena, Calif.; and her ex-husband and soulmate Phillip Schaeffer of Santa Barbara, Calif.

Her ashes will be spread over Oak Creek Canyon at her request.
