Wilhelm Woelbel Bill, came to the United States from Austria in January of 1952 with his father and Mother, Anna-Marie and Franz Woelbel where they settled in St. Louis. They quickly adapted to the United States where Bill and his father worked together in a Machine Shop. In 1956 he became a U.S. Citizen and then married Irita Maertins in November 1956. This wonderful marriage between Bill and Rita lasted for 60 years and they had three Children, Anita, Edmund and Victor.
Bill is Survived by his wife, Irita, his three children Anita Goldstein, Ed Woelbel, Victor Woelbel, his sister, Maria Feichtinger, 7 Grandchildren: Anne-Marie Carbonell, Jen Woelbel, Danny Goldstein, Lauren Goldstein, Jacob Woelbel, Jessica Woelbel and Julia Woelbel and soon to be born Great Granddaughter, Mia Louise.
Bill and Rita moved to Sedona in 1999 as he continued to work as a Mechanical Engineer and Consultant till retiring (kind of) at age of 83. Bills passions include fishing (about every part of the world including the Amazon), his grandchildren and traveling to all 7 continents with Rita. He will be missed for his laugh, smile and the way he could light up a room. He will also be missed for all the designs and patents in the engineering world. Most of all he will be missed by his family and thank you for bringing us to the greatest country on earth!
