Born Wilma Arlene Pyle, the first to receive her "heartprint", were her parents, Elvira and Talmage, on September 2nd 1941, in North Platte, Nebraska. Wilma's parents preceeded her in death, as did her sisters Norma and Ruth. Elvira and Talmage entered into eternal life when Wilma was only a teenager. Her older sisters passed away in recent years. Wilma Arlene Nelson entered into eternal rest June 5, 2021, and she will be missed tremendously by friends and family alike.
Wilma began her career by substitute teaching in Tracy, California. Wilma would go on to teach junior high math and science full-time in both Emmett and Moscow, Idaho. Her dedication did not go unnoticed, as she received Teacher of the Year for the State of Idaho during the 1980's. She would later go on to receive her Masters in Education Degree.
Lewis Nelson Jr., also preceding Wilma in eternal life, would become one of Wilma's most treasured loves of her life. As husband and wife, Lew and Wilma both shared a talent and passion for education. Wilma's final retirement residence became Silver City, New Mexico. And, she made countless, wonderful friends there.
Altogether, it was the golfing, her friends, the Red Hat Ladies, and of course, the Pink Store (just across the border) that provided ultimate joy and fulfillment in the latter years of Wilma's life.
Wilma designed and created her special heartprints for every living person that she met. Just like our fingerprints are one of a kind, her impressions on us are unique, everlasting, and timeless.
Similar to the ripple effect, she's touched each one of us in a magical way through her little heartprints. Let us continue to love and honor Wilma.
