Woodrow "Woody" Ano, 76, of Sedona passed away peacefully, Tues. May 23, 2017 in his home with his loving wife at his side, after a long painful battle with cancer.
He was born in Antigo, WI on Sept. 27, 1940 and lived in various parts of the country including IL, CA and TX.
He had many types of jobs, but due to his family's musical background, ended up in the music world too. He had his own band, "The Lancers" with his brothers. He recorded other bands and also booked bands,
giving him the chance to work with many renowned artists like Jerry Lee Lewis, The Rolling Stones and Dottie West. Later with quite a career change he worked his way to upper management and facility manager for several large jet engine overhaul companies.
After retiring he was an avid golfer and he and his wife, Inga, did a lot of traveling around the country. He also returned to his love of music and recording. He spent many joyous hours recording some of the local
"country" talent, both live and at his home recording studio.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Inga, of 28 years. Three brothers; Barry (Pegi) of Hurricane, UT; Andy (DeLynne) of Indio, CA and Jerry (Diyanne) of Beach Park, IL. Two daughters, Robbin (Mike) Parker of
Beach Park, IL and Cindee (Joe) Owens of Clermont, FL. Four grandchildren, Katie, Sara, Terry and Emilee. He was preceded in death by brother Richard of McHenry, IL and only sister, Lelani (Ray) von Bober
of Sugar Camp, WI.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, June 18 at 2:00 PM at the clubhouse at Oakcreek Country Club, 690 Bellrock Blvd. in the Village of Oakcreek.
